President Trump awarded Tiger Woods the nation's highest civilian honor on Monday - The Presidential Medal of Freedom. Trump described the golfer as a "true legend" who transformed golf and fought through a hiatus and injury to return to the sport's Masters Tournament and win!

Tiger Woods' Masters win was his first in 11 years. He now ranks second in PGA Tour wins and in major tournament victories. However, Trump said that golf wasn't the only factor that played a part in him awarding Tiger. After his win, Trump took to Twitter saying he was awarding him because of his "incredible Success & Comeback in Sports (Golf) and, more importantly, LIFE."

This is not the first time a President has awarded the medal to a golfer. President George W. busch presented it to Arnold Palmer and Jack Nicklaus and Obama presented it to Charlie Sifford known as the "Jackie Robinson of golf".
