Its September 1st and the Marlins are definitely in the playoff mix. Even with the COVID scare the Marlins have maintained a .500 record.
Now the Marlins have added a big bat to their line-up and a great glove in their outfield in Sterling Marte, acquired from the Diamondbacks yesterday. Already in 2020 he has 38 hits and a .311 batting average. His bat will help a struggling Marlins line-up and their outfield being a 2-time Glove Gold Winner. He has a club option of 12 million for 2021 which the Marlins will probably pick up as the team seems ready to start contending.
Also 2b Isan Diaz has decided to rejoin the team after opting out of the season earlier. He will join the club after going through the re-entry process.
Also the Marlins have re-activated most if the players affected in the COVID issue. Sandy Alcantara, Jose Urena, Pablo Lopez, Eliser Hernandez, and Rookie Trevor Rogers have made this a formidable rotation.
Now with more than half of the season over, the Marlins will try to make the playoffs for the 1st time since 2003.
